House clearings have a variety of uses. One is to rid it, or the land, of ghosts. Ghosts come in many forms. This blog here and here will also assist your own knowledge of what ghosts are and can affect.
Mostly, ghosts are past over souls who still stay within objects, walls, living spaces. Not the whole person. Rather remnants of them.
I’ll preface this by also stating that many ghosts are friendly. Of love. Like from a past over friend, relative, child or partner.
If this is the case and you are worried that a house clearing will erase them (your loved ones). Rest assured that what isn’t affected is memories. You will still be able to communicate with them. You may also still be able to sense them.
However what a house clearing does is clear out the negative aspects within house parts or objects. This is for your best and highest good. Negative aspects of a ghost (loved one) if this is the case, is for example a disagreement or a miscommunication.
Examples of why a house clearing to rid it of ghosts may be needed include:
- Wary of people. This is a common one. An old energy in a space where you spend a lot of time, can impact your own life. Having a clearing may assist.
- Loss feeling. Also lack. These are very common when a past over loved one has either lived in the house / property or visited a lot. What is misunderstood between you can stay. You will feel them.
- Lack or unloved. This also is common. But from a non-loved one. A ghost / spirit you didn’t know. It could have been from a previous owner. Or because you are located on an old burial ground. Ghosts can even be within structures on the property. For example, in a recent house clearing a ghost was within a wall. This ghost was not positive. So the owner was often in a state of confusion. For this ghost it had unfinished business.
- Dismal outlook. For a ghost it is often not their choosing when they are going. They can insist staying. From a living person’s point of view this can seem unnerving. Or often dismal. However when the house clearing is done, the living people can be more positive.
- Confusion. Ghost will often make themselves known. If you are not open to them, from a mediumship point of view. You can feel them, but then are not receiving the healing or message. Creating what is known as an internal conflict.
- Ungrounding. For empaths (people who feel) you may be experiencing not feeling completing in your body. Un-spoken words from a ghost may need to be spoken. Use this to assist.
- Lack (not enough) feeling. This is not so common, in my experience. However what some home owners may feel is a space where lack of money is always felt. Not usually in the whole house, rather a corner.
- Feeling of disarray. Uncommon, however still a good reason for a house / property clearing to occur. Afterwards you may experience more joy.

What is NOT covered in a house / property clearing is the PEOPLE who live there. So please be aware. What is left after a house clearing you will KNOW is yours. So keep doing your own inner work.
